Calico Owl Creative’s logo features custom sans serif lettering, bold colors and a wink to the studio’s namesake animal. The logo can be abbreviated to the eyes and beak for social media icons, lending versatility to the simple design.

Lupin III

I love animation and I’ve never grown out of my love for cartoons in particular. One of my favorite shows is Lupin III, a Japanese series created in the 1970’s that can only be described as Saturday morning cartoons for adults. It follows the misadventures of the world’s greatest thief, Arsène Lupin III (Arsène Lupin was a gentleman thief character created by Maurice LeBlanc in 1905 as a sort of anti-hero response to Sherlock Holmes) and his gang as they pull off heists around the world, pursued by the hapless Inspector Zenigata of Interpol. It’s ridiculous, sexy and fun, and I designed this poster series one weekend while binge-watching some of my favorite episodes.

Calico Critters

Last year I gave birth to my first child, which inspired me to create this series of animal posters. Each design features a different creature made up of simple shapes — mostly circles — and cheerful colors to brighten any child’s space. All the elements offer opportunities for basic learning: How many seashells do you see with the otter? What color fish did the penguin catch? What shape is the frog’s lily pad?
