Palmerton Area Library
Public Library
The Palmerton Area Library’s logo refresh features the library building, a handsome stone structure built in 1926. The library is currently raising funds for repairs, so it was important to highlight the beauty of the building in the design — it’s also one of the most recognizable locations in the small town of Palmerton. Every detail of the front façade, from the wrought-iron window grates to the carved columns, was carefully recreated by hand, presenting the historic community service in modern line art. I have always loved books and libraries, and this logo was such an honor to design.
Programming Promotions
The library employs a combination of online and in-person marketing to advertise upcoming programs to the community. These graphics are designed for use digitally on social media, as well as printed flyers for the library’s bulletin boards, windows, etc. The library strives to engage as many members of the community as possible, so bright colors and cheerful imagery are used to convey a sense of warmth and welcoming.

Posters
The library often promotes large events and fundraisers with posters hung displayed at local businesses and public places. These designs use bold elements and colors to stand out from others on busy bulletin boards, or to grab attention from shop windows and doors. In a small town with a lot of foot traffic, this is essential for reaching the community, and it also reinforces social media and in-house marketing efforts.
